SCHMID COLLECTIBLES
Schmid was at one time a major licensed maker of ceramic collectibles. In 1994 and under license with Quality Family Entertainment, the company released a number of Shining Time Station pieces to be collected by fans of the show. The pieces were packed on attractive Shining Time theme coloured boxes featuring artwork of the station and its residents. Schmid also later produced a number of ceramic collectibles of the Thomas the Tank Engine & Friends characters for Britt Allcroft Productions. Here we feature the Schmid line produced for Shining Time Station.

SHINING TIME STATION COOKIE JAR

The roof comes off this colourful ceramic station to reveal the inscription "There's just something special about this place" inside the cookie jar. The cookie jar measures @6" square and @8" tall.

Listen to the Jukebox!
Though the kneeling man bears little resemblance to Schemer, this is definitely the Arcade's Jukebox. This collectible features a Sankyo keyed music box which plays the theme from Shining Time Station. As the music plays, the center drum rotates to reveal pictures of the Jukebox Puppet Band members. This piece measures 7.25" X 4.25" x 6.25" high.

Britt Allcroft's company also licensed Schmid to create Thomas the Tank Engine & Friends character ceramic pieces - this one featuring Thomas & James for a Cookie Jar (front and rear view). The packaging was distinctively Thomas-themed, but included the banner as seen on Shining Time Station. This cookie jar measured 8.5" x 5" x 7.5" high.
